BRITISH HEART FOUNDATION

The British Heart Foundation currently have a grant available to place more community public access defibrillators in public places. The grant will part fund the cost of a defibrillator and eligible groups are asked to contribute £400 towards the cost, the BHF will fund the other half.

Defibrillator Grant for Communities available from the British Heart …

To apply for the grant, you need to return to the BHF’s defibrillator funding page in October when applications to receive a fully-funded defibrillator will open for eligible community groups. You must be applying on behalf of a community group and keep the defibrillator outside in a cabinet which does not need a key or code (it must be accessible by anyone at all times). You must also be able to provide an electricity supply so that the defibrillator is kept at the right temperature in cold weather to protect it from damage. Additionally, you should have a clear need for the device (e.g., be in a busy location or where a PAD is not within 200 metres) and be committed to train the local community in CPR using BHF’s free online RevivR training 1If you have any questions about funding, email defibs@bhf.org.uk
